Am Taltor wird klar, warum Stadtmauern damals lebenswichtig waren. Weiter geht’s über die Metzgerzeile zu St. Peter und zum Alten Hof, wo die Herzöge residierten. Der „Sprung“ zur Residenz ist auch ein zeitlicher Sprung zum HSU-Thema König Ludwig I.
Den Tourabschluss bildet die Frauenkirche, vor und in der die Kinder über Türme, Legenden und große Bauwerke staunen können.

Starting at Marienplatz, the tour takes you on a journey back in time to the city’s founding: why Munich is actually called “Munich,” who was in charge here, and how loud, crowded, and busy it was in the Middle Ages. At the Taltor gate, it becomes clear why city walls were so important back then. The tour continues via Metzgerzeile to St. Peter’s Church and the Old Court, where the dukes resided. The “leap” to the Residenz is also a leap in time to the HSU topic of King Ludwig I.
The tour ends at the Frauenkirche, where children can marvel at towers, legends, and great buildings.

The tour is a mixture of things already learned at school and new experiences in the city. And with a little luck—and the right timing—we’ll make it to the carillon at City Hall afterwards.

Weitere Stationen wie die Theatinerkirche stehen für die Kurfürstenzeit und den Einfluss europäischer Machtpolitik, während die Residenz den Bogen zur Königszeit spannt und auch den Blick auf die Französische Revolution und ihre Auswirkungen auf Bayern öffnet.

Die Führung verbindet historische Fakten mit Diskussion, Einordnung und Bezügen zur Gegenwart.
